TEST DRIVE THE COMMUNITY: CALGARY EVENT ROUNDUP

That's right — we've already had our first 'Test Drivers' from Calgary!  With business plan in hand, our guests spent a number of days in the region checking out commercial and residential real estate.  We arranged a series of meetings with local business and municipal leaders, with very positive feedback from all sides for the potential of a small manufacturing business in the renewable energy/IT sector.  Stay tuned — we'll be sure to post updates as things progress.

In the meantime, here's just some of the feedback we've received from our Test Drive event guests:

Angela and I wanted to thank you for the excellent evening last night.  We thoroughly enjoyed it.  Your team did a great job.  In regards to business opportunities in the region, I am encouraged by your team's forward looking views and would like to explore the advantages more in depth very soon. - Brent & Angela

My wife and I were thoroughly impressed with the extraordinary event to which we were treated last evening.  If having an ambiance like Catch to ourselves wasn't enough, having a multi-course presentation of a wide range of Nova Scotia's delicious wine and food stuffs prepared by one of the country's finest Chef's certainly made for a first class experience.  Throw in a tasting of local artworks - one of which we were thrilled to take home with us - and you have one memorable evening.  See you soon. - David & Louisette

It was a pleasure meeting you the other evening.  I just wanted to thank you and your team for putting on a top notch event last evening.  It was a real pleasure.  It is also refreshing to know that there are jobs for Tomas and I back east....GOOD jobs.  I expect that you will see us back in Nova Scotia in the next 1 to 2 years. - Angela & Tomas

Our Test Drive event also garnered a good deal of press in the Calgary market and at home.  Check out some of the familiar faces in this Citytv news footage!

We extend a HUGE thank you to all our Test Drive partners for their help in making this event a success:

We were thrilled to host the many enthusiastic entrepreneurs and professionals from the big, beautiful city of Calgary.  Guests of our Test Drive the Community event at Catch Restaurant on May 7 were delighted with the inventive and delicious tasting menu prepared by Executive Chef Hayato Okamitsu, Canada’s 2009 Gold Medal Plates Winner.  Here's the menu...

In addition to this bountiful harvest culled from land and sea in Annapolis Digby, the evening featured a silent auction of works from our region’s many gifted artists.  Pieces ranged from $20 to $420 and, with 100% of the proceeds going back to the artist, guests were even more pleased to bid.  Sarah Haliburton's ball pitcher actually went for more than the retail price!  Have a look at the amazing collection of art that was sold:

Not to be outdone, the wines from Bear River Vineyards made a big impact and we've already had inquiries from our guests who are interested in visiting and purchasing products.

In the coming days, we'll post the Annapolis Digby slide presentation, something that we think you'll find useful if you're interested in showing off our region to clients and business associates, as well as friends and family — stay tuned for updates!
