BCAH Funding Deadline

A reminder that the next application deadline for the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage (BCAH) program will be September 30, 2010.

The Government of Canada's Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program has three components that support activities and projects that celebrate local historical heritage and/or local artists and artisans.  To find out more about the program's eligibility criteria and to download the program's RECENTLY UPDATED GUIDES AND APPLICATION FORMS, please consult the Canadian Heritage website: http://www.pch.gc.ca/eng/1267799042836

The program's three components are:

1.  Local Festivals

The Local Festivals component provides funding to local groups for recurring festivals that present the work of local artists, artisans, or historical performers. The September 30, 2010 deadline date is for festivals starting between April 1, 2011 and August 31, 2011.  The following application deadline, April 30, 2011 will be for festivals starting between September 1, 2011 and March 31, 2012.

2.  Community Anniversaries

The Community Anniversaries component provides funding to local groups for non-recurring local events and capital projects that commemorate an anniversary of 100 years or greater, in increments of 25 years (ie:  125, 150, 175, etc.). The September 30, 2010 deadline date will be for events starting between April 1, 2011 and December 31, 2011.  The following application deadline, April 30, 2011 will be for events starting between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2012

3.  Legacy Fund

The Legacy Fund provides funding for community capital projects that commemorate a local historical anniversary of 100 years or greater, in increments of 25 years (i.e.:  125, 150, 175, etc.).  The September 30, 2010 and April 30, 2011 deadline dates will be for capital projects that will be completed before March 31, 2012.
